Accounting Information:

Practitioners of accountancy are known as accountants. There are many professional organizations for accountants throughout the world. Most grant their members certain titles indicating their membership. Examples are Chartered Certified Accountant (ACCA or FCCA), Chartered Accountant (FCA, CA or ACA) and Certified Public Accountant (CPA).

Accountancy's beginnings date way back to the earliest civilizations (i.e. the Sumerians in Mesopotamia),  they needed to maintain accurate records of the quantities and relative values of their agricultural products so simple accounting arose. Simple accounting is also mentioned in the Bible in the book of Matthew, in the Parable of the Talents (Matt. 25:19).
